Additional Info: Curtis Bailey -- Saxophonist

This native New Yorker who got his professional start with the late great band leader, Sun-Ra, while still in high school, with the honor of sitting in the same section with legendary saxophonist Marshal Allen and John Gilmore. Curtis played All City and Boro-Wide first chair playing solos at Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. Curtis attended the College at Old Westbury, majoring in Music and a minor in Business.

While in college, Curtis Bailey began to promote himself as a young gun for hire. In 1989 he was picked up by Warner Reprise rap group, Unity 2; a Hip Hop, Ska, Dance, Funk band with a banging DJ. Unity 2 was a recording and tour band that opened for such acts like Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, Big Daddy Kane, Maxie Priest.

In 1996, Curtis along with manager, Ralph Davis, of R.I.D.E. Promotions and a talented singer/songwriter, Tony Dixon, founded The Final Word Productions. This was a full production house that wrote for many new artists. Curtis then had the pleasure of becoming the Musical Director for an off-Broadway play "Tomorrow", written and directed by "Tellin Tales" founder T-Renee.
In 1997, Curtis also put out his debut CD "Daddy's Got Deal" which put him back into the tour arena and won him the Top Dog spot of Harlem Chamber Of Commerce's "Harlem Week". He began to open for acts like Ray Goodman and Brown Chuck Jackson, Freddy Jackson and Millie Jackson.

The New York Post stated that "Curtis Bailey is an Intriguing Instrumentalist".
After the release of Curtis first CD, his music was selected as the theme and background for the weekly radio show, "The Hottest Poets Radio Network".

The year 2001 brought yet another notch to his belt in the way of short films. Curtis arrangements and sound effects have been used in short films and he has also had the opportunity to provide the entire movie score. Curtis worked on the film Doctors Orders, directed by Kevin Doc Tuddor of Sand Storm Productions and on the film I Will and Uphill Fall directed by Donovan Lambert of A Long Time Coming Productions.

Curtis has played, toured, opened for and/or recorded with artist such as Jon Lucien, Lonnie Youngblood, Hezekiah Walker, Melba Moore, Melissa Morgan, Freddie Jackson and Horace Brown.

For the past five years, Curtis has played with Mega Reggae Soul Band, "Leon and The Peoples". Leon and The Peoples were nominated for Best New Band at the 2007 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA). Leon and The Peoples have completed a North American tour with Beres Hammond and Marcia Griffiths after their debut album "The Road Less Traveled".

Curtis is inspired by all music genres and artists that continue to pave the way and break new ground in music. His hope and prayer is to touch the hearts of listeners and play and collaborate with as many artists as time will allow. His motto, True To The Rhythm", keeps him grounded and studious.
"Please let me in and experience my music then tell a friend or ten. I will continue to compose music that will make a difference to all of the Beautiful People. Look for the video, "While I Watch You Sleep", and come out to my concerts and up to the stage and party with my unbelievable band." Please revisit my site in weeks to come for more great music.
Furthermore, after you down my music, hit me at Timetomakenoise@hotmail.com, so I can thank you and we can talk about the music. Currently I have a solo project and dynamic new band called "THE CLINIC" that you will be hearing big things about, real soon.
