Marquis is a musician that was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He has done many things with his music. Since the age of five he has always been exposed to music. His father introduced him to the music of George Benson, James Brown, The Temptations, Grover Washington Jr., etc. It is his encounter with the music of those musicians that made him the jazz artist you see before you. He has received music degrees from two different institutions. In 2004 he received his Associates degree in music (vocal performance)and in 2007 in received his bachelors degree in music (classical saxophone). He currently attends GRAD school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee to work on his Masters degree in jazz studies. It is his passion for music that drives him to perfection.
